Huntsville, Alabama is best known for it’s part in the space race and as part of the defense industry. The fast growing job market here has a lot of people calling Huntsville and its surrounding areas home, after all Huntsville was just named the third best place to live by U.S. News & World Report.

If you are looking for things to do in this area one of the first things people recommend is the Space and Rocket Center. This Smithsonian Affiliate is part of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and is also the home of Space Camp. No one around here is going to miss an opportunity to boast about our baseball team, the Rocket City Trash Pandas, currently playing their first season!

Also on the list of things to do are the Huntsville Botanical Gardens, Mid-City District, Campus 805, Stove House, and Town Madison. Mid-City District is a still developing area that offers a weekly farmers market, activities like indoor rock climbing, Top Golf and soon a brand new movie theater. There are also new places to eat, shop, and next year it will house the Huntsville Amphitheater. Campus 805 is an entertainment spot with a little something for everyone. It is a renovated high school that has restaurants, a brewery, music venues, an outdoor spot for picnics and occasional farmers markets and events, axe throwing, virtual golf, and if you are in the know you’ll even enjoy the speakeasy on campus!  Stove House is another renovated area in town that was previously used to manufacture goods, and now they pride themselves on “manufacturing leisure”. They have plenty of places to eat and drink as well as regular events, concerts, exercise classes, outdoor movies, and trivia. There is always something happening at Stove House! Town Madison is an up-and-coming area right outside of Toyota Stadium that will include restaurants, dessert shops, hotels, and shopping. If you are looking more for ways to be active North Alabama offers great golfing locations, plenty of places to hike or kayak, and caverns to explore.

There are three main school districts in the Huntsville area: Huntsville City Schools, Madison County Schools, and Madison City Schools. There are also many higher educational opportunities in this area with University of Alabama in Huntsville right at the center of it all. We also have Alabama A&M University, Athens State University, Calhoun Community College, and Huntsville Bible College all in the area.

If you need to move to a location with exceptional medical care, Huntsville is positioned in the perfect spot. With the Huntsville Hospital network here in our own backyard reliable healthcare is easily accessible. We are also within an easy drive of UAB, Children’s of Alabama, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital.

And of course, if you are looking for a job in the Huntsville area, we recommend checking out our job board with jobs within our corporate office and with companies in the area.

If you have not been to Huntsville in a few years, I think it is safe to say this is not the Huntsville you remember. But if you have never thought about making the move to the area, it is safe to say now is the time. With so much growth and so many things to do it is no surprise that so many people are settling in here in North Alabama!
